Held in September 2011, Bata Breagha was an ambitious programme of events on Skye that combined crafts, music, pop-up exhibitions, radio broadcasts, walks and workshops. The centrepiece was Celestial Radio: a sailing boat created by artists Zoë Walker and Neil Bromwich, which is covered in over 60,000 mirrored tiles. Together with Leighton Jones, under the direction of Walker and Bromwich, we composed and produced a one hour soundscape that was broadcast from The Celeste, weaving together new and old music, sound design, phonography and interview content to form an alternative history of the island.
